Since January 2023, I am the deputy head of the Neuro-Mechanistic Modelling (NMM) department at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). Since December 2023 I am also the head of the Centre for European Research in Trusted AI (CERTAIN) at DFKI. I am a computer scientist (M.Sc.) and completed my doctorate in philosophy at the end of March 2024.
My research focuses on interdisciplinary questions concerning the explainability and transparency of AI as well as the sensibility of corresponding requirements. I have done and am still doing research in various interdisciplinary projects, for example in the project Explainable Inteligent System (EIS) and project E7 of the Transregional Collaborative Research Centre 248 “Foundations of Perspicuous Software Systems” (Center for Perspicuous Computing, CPEC). I also initiated the award-winning lecture Ethics for Nerds.
